The Walking Group meets at the Buttercross in the Market Square on the first and third Monday of the month at 9.30am.

Our walks are a mix of “local” and “away” walks. For away walks we travel by car (max 30 mins).

Walks vary between 2 ½ to 3 hours, covering 6 to 8 miles. We always plan to end the walk at The George for a spot of well-earned refreshment.

You will need sturdy shoes as some of the routes can be muddy. Other than that, just bring a drink and sense of humour with you.

If undecided, you can turn up for a single 'taster' session before joining the u3a.
